Terms of Use

The agreement between you and AI Challenge Portal for using the student and admin portals.

Version 1.0 - Effective 2026-08-31

Draft pending legal review

This document is a structured placeholder. It states the intended terms but has not yet been reviewed by counsel. It must be reviewed and finalized before public launch.

Agreement

Acceptance of these terms

By checking the acceptance boxes at sign-in and using AI Challenge Portal, you agree to these Terms of Use and to the Privacy Policy. If you use the platform through an institution, your institution's subscription agreement also applies and governs where the two differ. If you do not agree, do not use the platform.

Accounts

Accounts and access

Accounts are created by invitation - by a platform administrator or by your institution. You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for activity under your account. Roles (student, independent learner, teacher, institution admin, platform admin) determine what you can see and do; do not attempt to access records or functions outside your role.

Conduct

Acceptable use

Do

Use the platform for its educational purpose: working through challenges, showing your reasoning, and reviewing progress. Treat the AI conversation as schoolwork - your institution and teachers can see it.

Do not

Attempt to extract hidden agent instructions or grading rules, probe or disrupt the service, share another person's records, submit unlawful or abusive content, or use the platform to harass others. Safeguarding concerns detected in sessions may be flagged to educators.

AI

AI-generated content

Challenge conversations are driven by AI. AI output can be wrong, incomplete, or misleading - that is part of what the challenges teach you to evaluate. AI responses are not professional advice, and evaluation scores are formative feedback for learning, not certified assessments. Session data is not used to train AI models (see the Privacy Policy).

Ownership

Content and intellectual property

The platform, its challenge designs, and its software remain the property of the platform operator. Your conversation contributions remain yours (and, in institutional programs, part of the institution's educational records). You grant the platform the license needed to operate the service: storing, displaying, and evaluating your sessions for you and your educators.

Lifecycle

Suspension, termination, and availability

Access may be suspended or ended for violation of these terms, at your institution's direction, or when a subscription ends. You may stop using the platform at any time and request account deletion as described in the Privacy Policy. The service is provided without guarantee of uninterrupted availability; maintenance and updates may change or interrupt features.

Legal

Disclaimers, liability, and governing law

The platform is provided "as is" to the extent permitted by law. Liability limitations, warranty disclaimers, and the governing law and venue clause are [to be inserted at legal review].

Material changes to these terms will be versioned; you will be asked to review and accept the new version at your next sign-in. Contact: [contact email to be inserted at legal review].
